Indo Board Original Review And Buying Advice
Skating, Surfing, Biking, Weight Lifting, and Yoga all do a good job of keeping you in shape to snowboard. However, the Indo board is another way that comes close to working the same muscles in your legs and keeping your balance in check. I have owned an Indo board for well over 10 years and feel it’s a great surfing trainer and a good snowboard trainer.
Ethics Statement: We don’t get paid by the manufacturer to write these reviews. No one is perfect and we do make money from the “Where To Buy” links below, but this is our best attempt at an honest and objective review from an average riders’ perspective.
We have not tried all of these but I own the Indo Original and briefly tried the Indo Pro so this is our take on the Original. The Original has been in my apt for years and it really helped me keep my legs ready for surfing and somewhat ready for snowboarding. It also became something that sucked in my roommates into doing as well. These boards have been around for years in some form or another. I remember my uncle made one of these in the ’80s to screw around with when the surf was flat. It’s come a long way since then. There are a few other companies out there that make similar balance boards and their primary competitor is the view do boards that you see on this site as well.
The Original Indo Board is what we are most familiar with and it has stood the test of time. It’s bulky and thick but easy to learn on. It is perfect for riders of all levels. The other boards have a similar feeling but offer variations. I’d personally like to have the Indo Mini Pro instead of the Original for staying in shape for snowboarding. You can get a pretty good workout. I hate the gym. It just sucks to go in there and see a bunch of sweaty people looking at themselves in the mirror all the time. Even worse is the dude who spends all his time working his upper body and then calls a leg work out running on a treadmill. It is much better hanging out in your living room, watching a good movie and screwing around on a balance board or doing some workouts with it.
We have found that the hardest thing to retain during the offseason is your balance and sense of riding a snowboard. This helps keep you in shape but it just doesn’t feel like you are on a snowboard. So if you compare this to the View do board you can ollie easier because there isn’t a track but you can’t simulate turning on a snowboard with the Indo Original like you can with the View Do Indy. Both are fun boards so if you are more into ollies the Indo is the call but if you are more into keeping your feet in shape for turning the Vew Do Indy is the Call. I think a better comparison would be to have the Indy vs. the Mini Pro so hopefully, we’ll get that going for you if Indo is willing.

Indo Balance Board Reviews
Indo Board has been around for a long time and it’s no surprise that the company has built such a strong reputation with the quality of their products. Indo Board is the brand that many professional athletes turn to for balance training but it is just as popular among athletes and fitness enthusiasts. Indo Board balance boards all have nearly 5 out of 5-star rating on Amazon and it’s difficult to find someone that did not have a positive experience. Some of the highlights from user reviews include:
- Fun and enjoyable workout
- Responsive customer service
- Very sturdy and high quality
- Easy to store and does not take up much room
- Great for all ages and the whole family
- Great core and leg workout
From the negative experiences I could find, the main complaint was an injury. This is a product that you are using at your own risk. This is also why I recommend starting with the Original Package with Foam Kit. The foam kit will let you work your way up and build up your balance ability. If you jump right onto the full-size roller you without prior experience your risk of injury will increase.
Where to Buy Indo Board
You can buy any Indo Board product through IndoBoard.com. I recommend buying directly from the manufacturer rather than a third party like Amazon. This way you can be confident you are receiving a high-quality product and when you buy from IndoBoard.com you have many more customization options.
